Deployable dogs
Dogs become deployable when they obtain certification in the various disciplines, and have participated in multi-day sessions of recovery training.
Certification
SSD recognizes the following certificates
- NRHB rubble search B
- NRHB country search B
- KNPV rubble search B
- KNPV country search B
- Corpse Recovery Dog certificate issued by Tracking Dog School Cor Oldenburg
- Or comparable certificates in other countries.
Deployment exercises
Deployment exercises may include the following:
- Cooperation with other organizations (rescue squads, fire department, police, divers, other rescue groups)

Extended search activities

Equipment handling (boat, GPS, fish-finder, walky-talky, maps and compass, etc.
- Performance under pressure (a crowd, pressed for time, other enticements, tiredness, etc.

Unusual conditions (night, mountains, harsh weather conditions, etc.)
